Joining Our Club
As an AMA-charted club, we adhere to and comply with the safety code and governing regulations of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). All prospective members who seek membership with the Bend Aero Modelers (BAM) must agree to and accept AMA's safety code and BAM's by-laws as part of the application process.
NOTE: Per our by-laws, all new memberships are probationary for a period of 12 months.
Membership Options
When joining our club, you can choose from the following membership options (as appropriate):
Adult Membership
Individual who is 19 years and older at the time of application/renewal.Youth Membership
Individual who is not yet 19 years old at the time of application/renewal.Family Membership
Individuals who are immediate family members and part of the same household. A family membership must include two or more family members of the same household. Please note that children must be 25 years or younger and live with a parent at the time of application/renewal (and be part of the same household). A family membership also applies in cases where an adult child (older than 25 years) is the caretaker and lives with the parent/parents.
NOTE: All new memberships, except Youth Memberships, involve a one-time initiation fee. The initiation fee covers the processing of your application and includes a club hat as well as one (1) personalized name tag per application. Additional hats and name tags can be purchased separately.
Application Process
Please follow the below steps to start the application process.
Step 1: Confirm the following requirements before applying (if applicable).
- You are in good standing with the AMA.
NOTE: Does not apply if you have never been an AMA member.
- You are in good standing with the Bend Aero Modelers.
NOTE: Does not apply if you have never been a member of our club.
- You have not been expelled by another club or organization.
NOTE: If "yes," please provide a brief summary for the reason of your expulsion with your application (on a separate sheet of paper).
Step 2: Confirm your AMA status.
- Are you a current member of the AMA?
NOTE: If you are not a current member of the AMA or have never been a member of the AMA, please renew or obtain your AMA membership before you complete BAM's application proof. We will not be be able to process your membership until you can provide prove of a current AMA membership (e.g., a photocopy of your AMA membership card and/or your AMA number specified on BAM's application form).
Step 3: Complete the application form.

Step 4: Prepare the payment for your membership.
- If paying by check, please make the check payable to "BAM" and specify the correct amount that applies to the type of selected membership.

Step 5: Submit your application.
- Send your completed application and payment to the address shown at the bottom of the application form.
